Happy Halloween!

A blast from the past - FRANK!
This is a vintage DOTS/CTMH stamp from the ol' days.  He and his wife Honey were quite popular!  I created this card using the new Twitterpated papers.  I also used reinker to turn our white paint into Sweet Leaf paint for the Foundry Bookplate.  Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

Home for the Holidays Card

This was a fun card we made at my workshop last Saturday.  We used liquid glass and fun flock on the tree and house to make it look like snow.  It's a little hard to see in the photo, but it's cute in person.  Enjoy!

Scrapbook Funny/Joke

Pin It I saw this and thought it was too funny!

Top 10 Signs of a Scrapbook Addict
  1. You're the only one at a social gathering yelling, "Just one more photo, folks; I don't have enough for a two-page spread!
  2. A regular sandwich is no longer acceptable--it must be cropped or cut with decorative edges.
  3. You try to claim your album purchases as a medical expense because it's such good "therapy".
  4. You buy a new pink swimsuit because it matches the pink photo mounting paper.
  5. You decide to give your child piano lessons so you'll be able to use the musical instrument stickers that are in the Big Pack.
  6. You redecorate your family room to coordinate with your photo album covers.
  7. Your three year old wants to know if her coloring book is "archival quality".
  8. Your three-year-old wants to know if her coloring book is "archival quality."
  9. Scraps from your corner rounder cuttings can be found in unusual places: school lunch bags, briefcases, the laundry, the dog's water bowl.
  10. Of course a scrapbook addict doesn't follow a 12 step program but a 12 x 12 step one.

Eyelets, Eyelets, & More Eyelets

Pin It I LOVE LOVE LOVE our new Soft Set Eyelet Kit! I was shocked at how easy it was to use the first time I tried it and so were my customers.  Close to My Heart's new eyelets are notched so they split open very easily when a slight bit of pressures is added using the special eyelet setter.  Here are a few cards I made recently:

Flurry Dimensional Elements Card

Ingredients:
4 1/2 x 9 White Cardstock
2 x 2 Juniper CS
2 x 2 Juniper B&T (I used the snowflake pattern from the Jingle paper packet)
Juniper Ink Pad
9" Wide White Daisy Organdy Ribbon
CTMH Soft Set Eyelets (White)
CTMH Soft Set Eyelet Setter
Sponge Dauber
Paper Trimmer (cutting blade)
Any small holiday saying
Flurry Dimensional Elements (3 stars)
Foam Tape
Tiny spray bottle
Juniper or Twilight Reinker
Create a Shade Pearl Paint

All products can be purchases on my website: http://www.angelat.myctmh.com/

Directions:
  • Fold white cardstock into a card
  • Using your cutting blade, cut out a square in the upper-right hand corner
  • Use the square you just cut out as a template to trace the inside of the Juniper Cardstock
  • Cut out the center of the Juniper Cardstock with scissors or your paper trimmer
  • Use the sponge dauber and Juniper ink pad to scrape the edges of the Juniper Cardstock
  • Glue the Juniper Cardstock to the front of the card over the hole
  • Attach background paper to the inside of the card so you can see it through the window
  • In a small spray bottle, combine Create a Shade shimmer paint, reinker, and water (This is not an exact science so just use your discretion as to how much of each to use. Remember that you can always add more reinker, so start with about 4 drops.)
  • Put 3 star dimensional elements on a scrap piece of paper or in a box and spray the paint onto the stars
  • Let dry
  • Using CTMH's Soft Set Eyelet tool, attach white eyelet to the left/middle of the window
  • Tie organdy ribbon around the front of the card and through the eyelet
  • Attach stars on the inside of the card with foam tape so they peek through the window
  • Stamp saying in the lower left hand corner

My Stamp & Scrapbook Room

Pin It I always love to see what other people do with their craft rooms and I bet you do too.  I hope you feel inspired!  This room originally had white walls and yucky green carpet.  I designed the room and my wonderful husband installed the cabinets we purchased from Lowes.  Please let me know if you have any questions!

My Stamp Room

Close up of desk

My tool caddies from IKEA - I wanted easy access to them, but didn't want them on my desk.

My desk drawer full of accents & Ribbon Rounds

Helper #1 (Jack) next to my 12"x12" hanging file folders

These hanging file folder carts are from Joanns.com. I love them because I can roll them close to my desk, push them back, or take them with me to a crop.  Every CTMH color has its own file that is labeled with the color name and a heart stamped next to it in the matching color for easy viewing.  (They are organized by season.)

Helper #2 (Coeuri)

My stamp shelves!  I love being able to see my stamps, but traditional shelving didn't make sense for my wonderful Close to My Heart Acrylix stamps.  My solution - Cap Moulding!  (See next photo)

Side view of cap moulding. This is traditionally used to fit on top of beadboard as a chair rail.  I flipped it upside down and my husband tacked it onto the wall with a brad nailer.

My Closet

I "designed" the closet so my daughter could have all of her craft supplies on the bottom shelf, within reach. Since we've organized all of her things into bins, she actually keeps her side of the room clean!  The paper bins below this shelf hold retired CTMH papers for both her and I to share.

Helper #3 - I love having a space where she can join me! She loves to craft just like her mommy.  This photo also shows the shelves that house my business forms.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my room!
