Stairstep Calendar with December Stamp of the Month

We made this fun calendar at my November Workshop using  the Emporium Papers and the December Stamp of the Month.  I created the tear-off calendar with MS Publisher, but you can also find some wallet sized calendars online in case you don't have Publisher.  You can find the directions for the stair-step calendar here or I'm more than happy to show you how to make it in person. These are great holiday gifts or for your own desk!  Pin It

Northwest Trek Adventure

Pin It My son's class went to Northwest Trek in Enumclaw, WA today.  Even though it was FREEZING, we saw a lot of amazing animals.  It was a great reminder that we live in one of the most beautiful areas in the U.S. and what a gift God's creatures are to us!

Super Simple Friend Card

I donated a child's cardmaking party to our school auction last year and this is one of the cards the girls made.  It uses the summer 2009 special, "Tickled Pink" stamp set, but D1354 Endless Friendship would work great too.  I also used the "friend" stamp from the D1258 Friendship Word Puzzle set.  Other products used are White Daisy cardstock, corner rounder, and Juniper, Tulip, Creme Brulee, and Black ink pads.  These would make a fun notecard set to give as a Christmas or holiday gift too! A Thanksgiving Poem

A Thanksgiving Thought
by Joan Walsh Anglund

It's time for the turkey,
It's time for the pies,
It's time for the glow
in each child's eyes.

It's time for our prayers
of Thanksgiving to start;
It's time for love
to abide in our hearts!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! God Bless!

Childhood Portrait Card

Today I'd like to share another card from my workshop last Saturday.  It uses 3 of my favorite paper packets that I would have never put together until I watched  fall episode of Art and Soul.  The papers all have a Sweet Leaf or Crystal Blue background paper which go together nicely.  It's a simple card, but a fun example of how to use the print of your background papers.  The card pattern is from the Wishes Card Confidence Book.  Enjoy!

Ingredients:
D1373 Childhood Portrait
D1343 Love Language
Cocoa Ink Pad
Emporium Level 2 Paper
Magic Moments Level 2 Paper

Tri-Fold Gift Card Holder Using Glitter Rub Ons!

This is a fun gift card holder that we made at my workshop last Saturday.  Last month on Art and Soul, they talked about how fun it is to use the back of your background paper to coordinate with different paper packs.  If one pack uses Sweet Leaf, look in your other packs for a different pattern that is Sweet Leaf.  It is really fun to see what combinations you can put together, plus it extends the use of your paper too!

Directions:  Cut a piece of cardstock to 4" x 8 1/4"
Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"

Decorate each panel to your liking.  I added an eyelet (not shown) to the right/center on the front and fed a piece of white organdy ribbon through it, under the focal piece that is raised with foam tape, around the entire holder, and finished it off with a bow.  On the inside/right panel, cut a piece of background paper in a triangle and glue down the bottom and right side as a pocket for your gift card.
