Dreamin Card

I love the Dreamin papers, but then again, I'm a little partial to brown and blue. Here is a card using both the Dreamin' paper packet and the November Stamp of the Month.  Enjoy!

November Stamp of the Month: Cherish the Day Blog Hop

Pin It Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! If you are new to the hop, here is how it works: About 60 fellow Close to My Heart consultants all make a piece of art (scrapbook page, card, specialty item, etc) using the Stamp of the Month. They all include links to each other's blogs so that anyone can begin on any blog and hop from blog to blog which eventually becomes a big circle. Easy right?! It is a great way to view many different ideas using one stamp set which is available only that particular month, so don't miss out! Now let's get started. You can start here or if you've come here from Wanda's blog then you are on the right track. If you get lost along the way, you can see a full list of participants here.

The stamps fit perfectly on a 1 x 2 piece of cardstock or use the Cricut Cartridge to cut out a ticket shape!  You can see the tag cut out around the January Stamp below.

I created an interchangeable calendar using a CTMH Memory Game Box and used the Stamp of the Month below.  There is one "coaster" for each month inside the box.  It has a monthly calendar on one side and a photo on the other side.  I adhered the flap of a 3x3 plastic envelope to the top of the box so the envelope hangs over the back.  The calendars/photos fit inside the envelope to interchange throughout the year. The side that has the magnetic flap is actually now the back instead of the front.  If you would like to make one of these then stay tuned for information on my workshop coming soon!

Folded Tree Card

Here is another version of the Folded Tree Card. You just take three 4x4 pieces of cardstock and score them diagonally. Use a bone folder to fold the score lines. Place one diagonal in front of you, then the other two are placed on top of it side-by-side as show below. Add adhesive to the upper area of the center square and use a small piece of velco on the corner of right hand square so it can hold it together and stand up. The velco will be undone in order to lay flat to mail. Let me know if you have any questions!

Miracle Card Tutorial

Pin It Celebrate National Scrapbook Month with this beautiful Miracle Kit!  My favorite part about the kit is the fun pre-embossed Dimensional Elements.  When you sponge ink onto them, the embossed areas resist the ink, leaving a white image.  This card also features our new A-Door-Ables too.  Here is the tutorial:

Step 1:

Prepare the papers for your card.  Start with a Bamboo card (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) and layer a piece of floral background paper over it 1/4" smaller than the card.  Next, take a piece of 3 1/8 x 4 3/8 striped paper and layer it over a 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 piece of Colonial White Cardstock.  Then take a piece of 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 blue textured paper from the Caboodle paper packet and layer it onto a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 piece of Colonial White Cardstock.  Use one of the square saying Stickease from the Miracle set and stick that to the middle.

Step 2:
Rub the Sweet Leaf ink pad directly a medium size A-Door-Able and stamp over it with the same ink using the flower stamp from the Intrinsic Background set.  Let dry for a few minutes before touching.

Step 3:
Using Sorbet ink and a sponge, rub the ink in a circular motion over the top of the dimensional element.  The white portion you see is embossed and resists the ink.  (Cool, huh!?)

Step 4:
Remove a blue butterfly from the Stickease sheet and bend it in the center so the wings stick up.  Tape the center of the butterfly to the dimensional element.

Step 5:
Cut a piece of ribbon from the Mini-Medley Colonial White pack and tape it to a 1 x 4 3/8 piece of Sorbet textured paper from the Caboodle paper pack.  (It is the back side of the same paper that we used for the square.)

Step 6:
Glue the card together as seen in the first photo.  You're done!  Feel free to post a comment about the card or if you have any questions.  Thanks!

March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - "A Little Everything"

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Just jump on in and join the fun! How does it work? Below you will find a sample of my artwork that uses the March Stamp of the Month "A Little Everyting," plus a link to another consultant's blog which will have another sample.  She will then have another link to another blog showing even more artwork using this fantastic set. All in all, you should be able to see about 50-60 different samples! Now let's get started! If you have come from Kami Welter's blog then you are on the right track.

The You Rock papers work beautifully with this fun stamp set.  I used a piece of 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock which is one half of a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, but cut vertically instead of horizontally.  Then I just layered the papers at the top and stamped a piece of white cardstock for the bottom.  The edges of the white piece is also inked with a Sunflower ink pad.  I inked up the star stamps from the You Rock Workshops on the Go kit* with the same Sunflower Ink Pad and rolled the edges in a Goldrush pad to give it dimension.  I used 3-D foam tape to pop them up on the card.  The very last step was to use a glue pen to outline each star and add a little Prisma Glitter over the top.  You can make this card, and a more feminine version at my next workshop on Saturday, March 13th.  Just let me know if you're in the Western Washington Area and would like to attend.  See below for the ingredients list and the next blog to hop over to for more March Stamp of the Month Ideas.

Feb Stamp of the Month: Piece of Cake with the Hearts for Haiti Special

Here is another card from my workshop yesterday.  It's super quick and is very versatile!  I combined the Topstitches papers with the February Stamp of the Month: Piece of Cake, plus I used the Spring Textured Cardstock (Hearts for Haiti Special) on the left side.  It really gives the simple card that extra interest it needs.  I used the sanding block on the textured cardstock to give it a distressed look and show its wonderful white core.  I hope you enjoy it!

Color Inspiration - February Stamp of the Month

Pin It My Sister-in-Law's birthday is tomorrow and I found this adorable lunchbox for her.  I decided to make a set of cards to put inside the lunchbox, so what better set to use than the February Stamp of the Month: Piece of Cake!?  There are four cards and envelopes inside this clear acrylic box.  I also used White Daisy, Black, and Sweet Leaf cardstock with a black ink pad.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I did use foam tape under the Sweet Leaf layer which really helps add an element of interest to such a plain card.  So simple, but I love the color combo!  Here are some photos:
